Whitehall State Park and Reservoir is a gem of a park tucked
away in Hopkinton MA. Often referred to as 'our little secret
spot'. It's a great place for canoes/kayaks with wide open water,
multiple bays, bogs, islands, and trails throughout.
Despite a dire weather forecast a mere 24 hours before start,
the day was clear, hot and with little wind. It was so humid
that those who took a swim, intentionally (and a few not so intentionally)
were no wetter than those just paddling.
There was a large turnout, many of our best racers, familiar
faces and a number of first timers.
Thanks to Aims Coney, Bill Pullman and others who helped my
wife Judy and I through our first meet. All seemed to go very
smoothly! (And we promise not to forget the cookies at the next
meet!)
