It was a quite cold day in the low 30s with a breeze blowing and the skies overcast. Many of the trails were streams and one trail on the orange course if one choose the less favorable way was a thigh-deep lake. Yet 55 people or groups came out to orienteer, many for the first time. William Hawkins not only set the course, for which there were no complaints for once, but put out the controls and picked up most of them up. He also worked registration. Joanne Sankus trained a number of new people and as usual was the most knowledgeably person around. The rest of the crew consisted of Patrice Marie Miller who we co-meet director and did all the starts and finishes, Nicholas Commons-Miller who did registrations and picked up lots of controls on the orange, Margaret Ellis Miller who did registration, and Michael Lamport Commons, who was also co-meet director.

Twelve individuals or groups did the white course. Ben and Meg Parson, shadowed by Tim Parson, completed the course in 32 minutes and 3 seconds. Chris Hansman, son of John, who has recently begun to orienteer came in with the next fastest time of 36.46.

Five individuals and one family competed on the yellow course. Truman Bradley, who came in with the fastest time in the yellow, had never orienteered before. He then went on to also complete the orange in a respectable time.

Twenty-seven people, some in groups of two, competed on the orange course.

Six people did the Motala. Doug Gosling, who drove down from New Hampshire completed all three of the courses in just over an hour, and came in ahead of Tim Parson by 1 minute, 63 seconds.
