On an unbelievably warm and beautiful Sunday in November, an eager group of 97 orienteers, some experienced and some beginners, participated in this recreational orienteering event, held in conjunction with the club's traditional Blue Hills Traverse. We offered White, Yellow and Orange courses. A shortened start window was necessary because Houghton's Pond was also hosting their Fall dog-sled races the same day. Courses were ably set by Joanne Sankus.

The help of the following individuals helped things to go more smoothly: Pete Beckwith (who took on helping with starts and finishes on a moments notice as he saw we were underhanded), Michael Commons (with hanging controls, registration, training), Caroline Fleming (with starts, finishes, some training, control pick-up), Janet Ryan helped pick up controls, Jason Tong and Carl Underwood helped post the results. Thanks also to the patience of all of the participants who remained very good natured and helpful despite the rush engendered by the short start window and a shortage of maps toward the end of the event.
