MOTALA, a town in Sweden in the district of Ostergotland, where the Motala course was invented. High temperatures in Stockholm, Sweden this same week are ranging from the low 60's to the low 70's.

MILTON, a town in Massachusetts where a Motala course was run, Sunday June 12th. Temperatures reached into the high 80's or low 90's.

The Motala course, set by Peter Amram, consisted of 3 separate loops of roughly equal length and difficulty, with a few shared controls but no shared legs. The distance was 4.1km with 75 meters of climb and 22 controls. A Motala course is like a relay, but the same individual runs all the legs. It is a nice technique for being able to set a longer course in a relatively small area. The Motala that was set on this Sunday presented real challenges, but everybody finished and seemed to enjoy it. With so many controls close together, time goes by quickly.

A White course, for newcomers, was also available. Because of the heat and of timing issues, a few individuals also did only one loop of the Motala. Times, and finishers, of each of the courses are shown below.
