Holiday Potluck & Orienteering
Nobscot Scout Reservation, Sudbury Ma

After watching the snow fall in Foxboro until about 1am, I was wondering if the prediction of 3 to 5 inches might be on the low side. (It looked worse on TV for the Patriots Game.) The snow did cause the course setter, Hans Bengtsson, to change the format at (almost) the last minute to Musketaquid rules. In this case the Yellow, Orange and Green Course controls could be taken in any order. This was to avoid having one "elephant track" to follow around each course. The White course and the Long Ski Course were the standard, done in order type. As it turns out, no one decided to ski the hills of Nobscot. For the three courses which were done like a score-O, if all the controls were not visited, the number of controls punched is recorded in place of a time.

The Holiday Potluck Lunch & Awards Ceremony were held in White Hall after the orienteering. It was a bit chilly because the repair service hadn't come to fix the heating system, but a fire in the fire place took off some of the chill. An excellent selection of favorite recipes was brought in for the potluck lunch. On hand to receive their 2001 club champion award plaques and a pair of orienteering sweat pants (for being there in person) were:

Ben Parson M-10
Nicholas Commons-Miller M-12
Siobahn Fleming F-16
Nancy Koehler F-21+
Tim Parson M40+
