Treacherous weather the preceding evening gave way to a beautiful sky but wet ground for NEOC's contribution to the Connecticut Forest and Park Associations annual celebration of Connecticut's trails. Our expert course setter Clint Morse, who also created an updated map of Gay City in time for this event, designed the courses. The event was promoted as a "try-O" experience for newcomers, but this year also included some challenges designed by Clint to attract our more experienced runners. Green and Red courses were set, which included a 1000m sprint from the penultimate (see your dictionary) control to the last control. Many of the first-time participants found the white course interesting enough to go out again on a yellow or orange. This was the third year we have put on this event in conjunction with Connecticut Trails Day, and each year it gets bigger and better.
