Due to the lack of a volunteer to set courses, we scheduled an event with the UNO Quick-O format. When we obtained a volunteer to put out an advanced course suitable for Red, Green & Brown, we modified our plan.

Some of the advanced controls were vetted and hung on Saturday. Volunteer boy scouts, along with Kevin & Mike, hung the beginner and intermediate controls on Sunday morning. Steve, assisted by Jon, hung the remainder of the advanced course on Sunday morning. Then, they updated the master maps and control description listings.

Registration was a little hectic because the crowd is not used to waiting till 12 noon to register. Beginners were able to register and copy their course and the starts actually began at 12 noon. Start times at 1 minute intervals kept the starter on his toes. Except for one late arriving group, the starts were complete in 80 minutes. The only flaw in the Quick-O system was due to those people who didn't adhere to the two hour time limit. By the time all came in, there was only 15 minutes of daylight left and no volunteers to retrieve controls.

As usual, we had a large group on the beginner course including an elementary school track club, a birthday celebration, and scouts. Some of the first-timers had a problem with the beginner course due to its inclusion of a couple of challenging controls at the end.

We were assisted by Richard Roberts and boy socuts from Troop 41 Middletown: Michael Mcloed, Stephen Gawlak, Jake Gawlak, Anthony Perrotti, and Kyle Roberts. They were busy before, during, and after the event with control hanging, course vetting, start, finish, results, and control pickup. Thanks also to all those in the helper list below.
