It was raining for the 8 AM trail run/bike race at the park but the sun came out in the early afternoon for the orienteers. We delayed our registration till 11 AM to avoid competiton on the trails.

Only beginner courses were offered at this event. A normal white course was hung. But, the yellow and orange courses were derived from the permanent markers in the park. These turned out to provide challenging Orienteering since one really had to find the mapped feature instead of locating those big orange flags. Permanent markers are only 4 inches on a side!

We were pleased to have six scout leaders come for training in preparation for the Oct 18 CT scout-O. Their times do not look impressive in the results because they had Kevin and I slowing their progress with, hopefully, useful tips.

We have many people to thank for helping make the event go smoothly. Thanks to all those in the helper list below.
