A wet but dedicated group of canoeists and kayakers participated in this year's Assabet River canoe O event. The torrential rains kept the timid paddlers away but did not seem to phase the competitors who showed up and chose the longer courses. Tyvek punch cards were a must for this event! The course had only 1 dry(?) control and so did not favor runners. Those who attempted running were slowed by the mud.

Special thanks to Aims Coney for all his help in setting up this event, to my wife Susan for her help setting the controls and running the registration table, to Robert Albright, owner of Crow Island, for allowing us the use of his wonderful island for our start and finish, and the men at the horseshoe club for offering to share the warmth of their woodstove and use of their portapot.
