The event went well in spite of the fact that control 11 seemed to have mysteriously disappeared before the meet began. We had 35 participants in 20 boats. The course structure was set up in a flexible manner in which participants could choose the number and order of controls, with the shortest course being 5 controls and the longest 17 (actually 16 with control 11 missing). 8 boats competed in the championship course with some good competitive results. Aims Coney and JJ Cote once again rose to victory in spite of the fact that the course was intentionally set in a manner in which to minimize the advantages they could gain over non-racing boats by carrying their boat over land.

This was my first attempt at putting on a canoe-o and I would never have been able to do it without all the wonder help I got. Many thanks to: Jim Henderson, for helping with set up: Aims Coney for helping all along the way; from arranging the meet, to bringing supplies (and much more, but it would take a whole page to list it all), to picking up controls; JJ Cote for start/finish, take down and returning the supplies; Siobhan Fleming for taking over the timing for the second half of the meet, and the entire Fleming family for help in breaking down. The weather cooperated by not raining until long after the meet was over and a good time was had by all.
