The Aims Coney/JJ Cote duo fended off some stiff competition to emerge as N.E. Champions, primarily utilizing strategy even the course setter hadn't envisioned. (For example, running together while carrying a conoe through Providence's "East Side.")

It was a beautiful day; and thanks to JJ's computer cartography we had an excellent map* - all a meet director could ask for! (*Doing so provided no advantage on race day.)

There was a good turn out, and everyone seemed to have a good time. (Although I unfortunately did have one "Bingo" control on the Extreme course that caused some who were unlucky enough to choose the wrong route to have a very rough time of it - sorry!)

Thanks to: JJ Cote for the excellent map - a new standard for canoe-o; Don Hall for receiving and printing out the map - plus upgrading our meet site signage; Aims Coney for technical advice and bringing extra canoes; Bob Burnett, my canoeing partner, for helping me to set up and run the meet; Ed Bailey, Terry Keegan, Gernot Krammer, and Erich Stephens for assistance with registration and start/finish.
