Windy, cloudy, and freezing conditions were predicted but the weather turned out to be ideal for orienteering. It was sunny and in the high 40s. There were 132 participants including the 19 Scout Leaders trained by Pete Lane and Paul Windt.

The infamous Brooksby poison ivy was not seen yet except by those who are very sensitive. With the exception of the orange and motala courses, competitors should not have met with the other Brookbsy nemesis, the briar patches. In fact, everybody seemed to have a good time and many of those new to orienteering are looking forward to the next event.

A special thanks goes to Marianne and Eric Terlizzi for their annual work at the registration desk. The start and finish were manned by the Peabody High School AFJROTC. They did a great job.
