Around 100 participants came to Boojum Rock on this partly
cloudy Sunday that was very pleasant for orienteering. Course
setter/meet director Matthias Mahr offered a full spectrum of
courses, including a Blue course that took full advantage of
the map by sending runners all the way across it 3 different
times. Since the Boojum Rock map was last field checked in 1991,
Matthias felt necessary to add map corrections in areas through
which courses passed. As a result, participants who showed up
to the meet site early were told to wait to register since "the
competition area was still being mapped." Overall, the
meet went very well, and most racers, particularly several families'
dogs that returned from the woods covered in fragments of local
flora, seemed to have a great time on the courses. Thank you
very much, Matthias, for a very enjoyable day of orienteering!
